As an Associate Scientist, you will play a critical role in the research and development lifecycle of our RTD tea products. You will be instrumental in formulating new and exciting beverages, optimizing existing product lines for taste, stability, and cost-efficiency, and ensuring our offerings meet the highest standards of quality and consumer preference across various international markets. Key Responsibilities
- Execute laboratory experiments and pilot plant trials for the development of new ready-to-drink tea products and the optimization of existing formulations, adhering to project timelines and objectives.
- Conduct thorough analytical testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products to ensure quality, safety, and compliance with specifications.
- Perform sensory evaluations of beverage prototypes, meticulously documenting results and contributing to flavor profile development and refinement.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Supply Chain, Regulatory Affairs, and Manufacturing, to ensure seamless product development from concept to commercialization.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of experimental procedures, formulations, and results, contributing to comprehensive project documentation and intellectual property protection.
- Support the scale-up of new products from laboratory benchtop to pilot plant and full-scale production, identifying and resolving technical challenges.
- Research new ingredients, processing technologies, and market trends to identify opportunities for innovation and competitive advantage within the RTD tea category.
- Participate in problem-solving initiatives related to product quality, stability, and process improvement.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and quality assurance standards in the laboratory and pilot plant environments.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology, or a related scientific field.
- Experience in a product development or R&D role within the food and beverage industry, preferably with liquid beverages or tea-based products.
- Demonstrated proficiency in laboratory techniques, experimental design, and data analysis.
- Strong understanding of food chemistry, ingredient functionality, and processing principles relevant to beverages.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting technical information clearly and concisely.
- Proven problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing technical challenges.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
