Job Description DevOps Engineer, Cloud Infrastructure & Automation Meneses Law
About This Role
Meneses Law, a distinguished and rapidly expanding immigration law firm, is at the forefront of leveraging technology to enhance its services and operational efficiency. We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic DevOps Engineer to join our vibrant and growing IT team. This pivotal role reports directly to our IT Director and is instrumental in shaping the future of our technological landscape. As a DevOps Engineer, you will be a key contributor to managing, optimizing, and securing our critical cloud infrastructure, streamlining our continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, enhancing security automation, and ensuring unparalleled system reliability across all applications. This is an exceptional opportunity for an individual passionate about building scalable, resilient, and high-performing infrastructure solutions within a dynamic legal technology environment. You will play a crucial role in enabling our firm to deliver superior legal services through robust and efficient technology, directly impacting our clients and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
- **Cloud Infrastructure Management:** Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud infrastructure solutions, primarily on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. This includes configuring virtual networks, compute resources, storage solutions, and database services, ensuring optimal performance and cost efficiency.
- **CI/CD Pipeline Development & Optimization:** Develop, manage, and optimize automated CI/CD pipelines using industry-standard tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions. Focus on accelerating software delivery, ensuring code quality, and implementing efficient, repeatable deployment strategies from development to production environments.
- **Security Automation & Compliance:** Implement and manage automated security practices throughout the development lifecycle (DevSecOps). This involves integrating security scanning tools, managing access controls, ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards, and contributing to incident response strategies to protect sensitive data.
- **System Reliability Engineering (SRE):** Establish and maintain high standards for system reliability, availability, and performance. Implement robust monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack) to proactively identify and resolve issues, minimize downtime, and ensure optimal application performance and uptime.
- **Infrastructure as Code (IaC):** Develop and maintain infrastructure using IaC tools like Terraform or Ansible to ensure consistency, reproducibility, and version control of all cloud resources and configurations, promoting immutable infrastructure principles.
- **Containerization & Orchestration:** Implement and manage containerization technologies (Docker) and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes) to enhance application portability, scalability, and resource utilization, facilitating microservices adoption.
- **Performance Tuning & Optimization:** Continuously monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to enhance the speed, efficiency, and responsiveness of our applications and services, ensuring a seamless user experience.
- **Collaboration & Documentation:** Work closely with development, operations, and IT teams to understand requirements, provide technical guidance, and foster a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for systems, processes, and configurations.
- **Troubleshooting & Problem Solving:** Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues across the infrastructure, applications, and pipelines in a timely and efficient manner, often under pressure.
- **Disaster Recovery & Backup:** Design, implement, and test disaster recovery and backup strategies to ensure business continuity and data integrity, minimizing potential data loss and service interruption.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Proven experience (3+ years preferred) as a DevOps Engineer, Cloud Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer, or a similar role, ideally within a fast-paced and growing organization.
- Demonstrable expertise in managing and improving cloud infrastructure, with a strong understanding of at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Solid experience in designing, building, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, demonstrating a clear understanding of automation principles and tools.
- Practical experience with implementing and enhancing security automation practices and ensuring system reliability through proactive monitoring and incident management.
- A strong commitment to ensuring high availability, security, and performance across diverse application environments.
- An enthusiastic, proactive, and problem-solving mindset, eager to tackle new challenges and contribute to a dynamic team.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Skills & Competencies
- **Cloud Platforms:** Proficient in AWS, Azure, or GCP services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, AKS, EKS, Lambda, Azure App Services).
- **CI/CD Tools:** Expertise with Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar automation servers.
- **Containerization & Orchestration:** Strong understanding and practical experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- **Infrastructure as Code (IaC):** Hands-on experience with Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, or similar configuration management tools.
- **Scripting & Automation:** Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- **Monitoring & Logging:** Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana), or Splunk.
- **Networking:** Fundamental understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, Load Balancing, firewalls).
- **Security Best Practices:** Knowledge of security principles, vulnerability management, and implementing secure configurations.
- **Version Control:** Proficient with Git and collaborative development workflows.
- **Problem-Solving:** Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
