We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Chemical Analyst to join our dynamic laboratory team. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare various samples, including rock, fluid, and other geological materials, for detailed chemical analysis according to established protocols and safety guidelines.
- Perform routine and specialized chemical analyses using a range of laboratory techniques, such as titrations, spectroscopy (e.g., FTIR, UV-Vis), chromatography (e.g., GC, HPLC), and other instrumental methods.
- Operate, calibrate, and perform basic maintenance on analytical laboratory equipment, ensuring optimal performance and accuracy of results.
- Accurately record, manage, and interpret experimental data, maintaining meticulous laboratory notebooks and digital records.
- Assist senior chemists and laboratory personnel with complex analytical projects, method development, and troubleshooting instrumentation issues.
- Conduct quality control checks on samples, reagents, and equipment to ensure the reliability and integrity of analytical data.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, environmental regulations, and quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) procedures to maintain a safe and compliant working environment.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of laboratory processes and analytical methodologies.
- Prepare clear and concise reports of analytical findings for internal review and project documentation.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Analytical Chemistry, Geochemistry, or a closely related scientific discipline from an accredited institution.
- Demonstrated practical laboratory experience, gained through academic coursework, internships, or previous entry-level roles.
- Fundamental understanding of basic analytical chemistry principles and laboratory techniques.
- Proficiency in using standard laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Familiarity with laboratory safety protocols and best practices.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate and reliable data.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
