Key Responsibilities

The Junior Consultant will provide pivotal support in delivering high-quality consulting services to our diverse client base, building expertise across green innovation and project management.

• Project Coordination: Assist Senior Consultants and Project Managers in the effective planning, execution, and monitoring of client projects, including managing timelines, organizing meetings, and documenting key decisions and action items.
• Research & Analysis: Conduct in-depth research on emerging green technologies, market trends, regulatory frameworks, and sustainability best practices. Identify relevant grant and subsidy opportunities at national and European levels that align with our clients' innovative projects in energy, environment, and mobility.
• Proposal & Report Development: Contribute to the drafting of compelling project proposals, grant applications, and comprehensive client reports, synthesizing complex information into clear, concise, and persuasive documents, often requiring collaboration with technical experts and clients.
• Data Collection & Interpretation: Gather, analyze, and interpret data related to project performance, environmental impact assessments, and financial viability of sustainable initiatives. Present findings in an accessible format to internal teams and clients.
• Client Engagement: Participate in client meetings, workshops, and presentations, taking detailed notes and contributing to discussions. Under guidance, you will help build and maintain strong client relationships by understanding their needs and ensuring our services consistently exceed expectations.
• Knowledge Management: Stay abreast of the latest developments in sustainability, green policy, and funding instruments within Europe. Contribute to internal knowledge sharing initiatives, helping to maintain EGEN's position as a thought leader in green innovation consulting.

Requirements & Qualifications

To thrive in this dynamic role, we seek a candidate who combines a strong academic foundation with a genuine passion for sustainability and innovation.

• Master's degree (or equivalent) in Environmental Science, Sustainable Energy Technology, Business Administration (with a focus on sustainability), Engineering, Economics, or a related field.
• Demonstrable interest in green innovation, renewable energy, circular economy principles, environmental protection, or sustainable mobility.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to dissect complex challenges and propose practical, innovative solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are essential, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
• Proficiency in Dutch (both written and spoken) is a strong requirement, as you will be working with Dutch-speaking clients and internal teams.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team setting, demonstrating a proactive and self-starting attitude.
• Prior internship or project experience in a consulting environment, research institute, or a sustainability-focused organization is a significant advantage.
