Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough consultations and examinations for a diverse range of small animal cases, providing accurate diagnoses and prognoses.
  • Perform a variety of routine and emergency surgical procedures, including soft tissue, and contribute to advanced surgical cases as appropriate to experience.
  • Utilise our state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging equipment, including digital X-ray, advanced dental radiography, and referral-level ultrasound with specialised cardiac and abdominal probes, ensuring comprehensive case work-ups.
  • Operate and interpret findings from endoscopy and bronchoscopy procedures to aid in complex internal medicine investigations.
  • Develop and implement effective, evidence-based treatment plans, ensuring optimal patient outcomes and client satisfaction.
  • Provide compassionate and empathetic care to all patients, prioritising their welfare and comfort throughout their visit.
  • Communicate clearly, effectively, and empathetically with pet owners, discussing treatment options, explaining procedures, and offering support and guidance.
  • Maintain meticulous and accurate clinical records using our modern veterinary practice management software.
  • Actively participate in a collaborative team environment, sharing knowledge, supporting colleagues, and contributing to a positive workplace culture.
  • Commit to continuous professional development (CPD), staying abreast of the latest advancements in veterinary medicine and surgery.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Veterinary degree (e.g., BVSc, DVM, VetMB) and current registration with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (MRCVS) is essential.
  • Proven experience as a Veterinary Surgeon, ideally within a small animal practice setting, demonstrating strong clinical acumen.
  • Exceptional diagnostic and surgical skills, with a confident approach to a wide range of veterinary procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of building rapport with both clients and colleagues.
