This is an exceptional opportunity for a dedicated tradesperson to secure a stable and consistent role on a fixed-term contract basis. You will be an integral part of our workshop operations, contributing to the crucial maintenance and fabrication of critical mobile equipment and components that support our clients' essential operations. This role offers the benefit of a predictable Monday to Friday day shift schedule, ensuring a healthy work-life balance, all within a supportive and well-equipped workshop environment. Reporting directly to the Fabrication Supervisor, you will play a key role in upholding Minprovise's reputation for excellence and precision.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality repair, rebuild, and fabrication work on a diverse range of mobile equipment and heavy machinery components, adhering to industry best practices and Minprovise's stringent quality standards.
- Execute complex welding procedures using various techniques (e.g., MIG, TIG, MMA, Flux-cored) on different materials (e.g., mild steel, stainless steel, wear plate) to restore or enhance structural integrity.
- Conduct thorough inspections and fault finding on mobile plant and equipment to diagnose mechanical and structural issues, proposing effective and efficient repair solutions.
- Undertake structural repairs, modifications, and component replacements on buckets, chassis, booms, and other critical parts of mobile earthmoving equipment (MEM).
- Interpret and work accurately from engineering drawings, schematics, and technical specifications to ensure precise fabrication and assembly.
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies, relevant Australian Standards, and OHS regulations.
- Maintain meticulous records of all maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used, and time taken, for accurate reporting and future reference.
- Collaborate effectively with the Fabrication Supervisor, fellow tradespeople, and other workshop personnel to ensure seamless project execution and optimal workshop flow.
- Contribute to a positive and productive workshop culture, actively participating in safety meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Operate workshop machinery and tools safely and proficiently, including grinders, drills, presses, and lifting equipment.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Hold a recognised Australian Trade Qualification as a Boilermaker, Heavy Fabricator, or equivalent.
- Possess proven and extensive experience in Mobile Earthmoving Equipment (MEM) maintenance, repair, and fabrication.
- Demonstrated ability to perform high-quality welding, structural repair, rebuild, and fabrication work on heavy mobile plant components.
- Solid experience working within a busy workshop environment, managing multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Ability to read and accurately interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding specifications.
- Commitment to maintaining a high standard of workplace safety and a strong understanding of OHS procedures.
- Current C-Class Driver's License.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screening.
